“HeadFirst Group is an organization that’s always evolving; here, you’re constantly challenged.”
Michelle Wassmer | Recruitment Consultant
Michelle Wassmer has been with HeadFirst Group for three years and was promoted to Senior Recruitment Consultant last year. In her role, she serves as the link between the market and clients. With great energy, she brings independent professionals and clients together to find the right matches.
Career
“Originally, I had a completely different career path in mind. I studied event management and could already picture myself organizing major festivals. Unfortunately, this dream came to a halt due to the COVID-19 crisis. This led me to look for something new, and that’s how I eventually ended up at HeadFirst Group. What started as a backup plan quickly became a place where I feel completely at home. I like it so much that I’m still working there, and I no longer see it as a temporary step,” says Michelle.
Although Michelle didn’t end up in the events industry after all, she still regularly applies her knowledge and skills in her daily work. “In my current role, I have to think on my feet, keep a clear overview, and work in a structured way. These are all things I learned during my studies. And this is exactly what makes recruitment so enjoyable. It’s very dynamic and just as people-oriented as event management. One day I’m on the phone all day, and the next I’m sitting across the table from a vendor or client. This diversity is what makes it so enjoyable. I’d go completely crazy if I had to work through the exact same to-do list every single day.”

“If you enjoy change and a fun, friendly work environment, this is the place for you.”
Working Together with Enjoyment
The team Michelle works in consists of about twenty-five colleagues. “The friendliest team at HeadFirst Group,” she says. But besides being friendly, it’s also a driven team, and they work well together. “It wasn’t until I joined HeadFirst Group that I realized what teamwork really means. A culture has been created where collaboration comes naturally. Everyone helps each other and is on the same page.” This not only makes the work more efficient but also more enjoyable. “Within the team, we use a buddy system. This allows colleagues to effortlessly take over each other’s work when someone is absent. This gives us confidence and fosters strong team dynamics.”
In addition to collaborating with the team, she also works closely with clients and independent professionals. She considers clarity to be of the utmost importance. “I prefer to help clients myself, without unnecessary referrals. That does mean I have to keep developing my skills and expanding my knowledge.”

Working in America
“HeadFirst Group is an organization that is constantly evolving. New plans and initiatives follow one another in rapid succession and contribute to the organization’s growth and development. There is clarity regarding roles, teams, and career advancement opportunities. This offers plenty of opportunities, especially if you indicate that you’re looking for more of a challenge.”
And Michelle should know: “I love a challenge, so when that opportunity came up, I quickly got in touch with another product team. I started working with them, and within two months, I went on a week-long trip to the U.S. with them. There, I explained the platform to our American recruiters Striive. These tasks weren’t originally part of my job description, but by taking the initiative, great opportunities arose.”
