Head of Engineering

As the Head of Engineering within HeadFirst Group you oversee the development of our digital ecosystem. This ecosystem has a large focus on recruitment with our own central platform and various connected systems (e.g. VMS, FMS, ATS, HCM platforms). Through this ecosystem we distribute around 30.000 job requests and around 90.000 contracts per year between the different systems and websites. Together with the various teams you form our technical vision and roll out the right strategy.

What will you do as Head of Engineering?

As Head of Engineering you will be part of the Product and Engineering leadership teams and help set strategy and goals across multiple engineering teams. We provide great digital experiences to our customers. In the Product and Engineering leadership team you will closely cooperate with the Product Owner & the Scrum Master, who also manages the platform team. This team currently consists of around 20 people (including Business Analysts, Fullstack Engineers, Front-end Engineers DevOps Engineers & Test Engineers), but growth is expected. Activities that keep you busy are:

  • Architecture & Engineering leadership (e.g. Ensuring ongoing alignment of our technology with our business strategy, building a technical roadmap together with the team, etc.)
  • Building quality assurance and data protection processes;
  • Managing, partnering and/or integrating IT based acquisitions;
  • Communicate our technology vision and strategy internal and to our clients, partners and investors;
  • Be our outward facing stakeholder for technical or sales discussions and represent us by speaking at events.

This is your profile:

  • You’ve got knowledge of technological trends, conducting technological analyses and researching them in order to build a strategy;
  • You’ve got leadership and organizational abilities and are a good communicator;
  • You are experienced with Agile working methodologies;
  • You challenge the status quo and facilitate an improved development approach;
  • You have working experience as a Web Developer and/or Architect in the past.

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with working in a platform environment;
  • Experience with HR and/or the labour market;
  • Working experience with Java, Angular, AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud.

  • A salary between € 5.000 ,- and € 9.000 ,- depending on your experience;
