“Behind every résumé lies a story”

Elia Vudisa | Recruitment Consultant

When Elia was exploring her next career move, HeadFirst Group quickly came to mind. Through a contact, she learned about the opportunities within the organization, though she was already familiar with the atmosphere. “I’d visited HeadFirst Group before and always found the atmosphere very pleasant. It felt welcoming, warm, and just friendly,” Elia says. After two interviews, the decision was a no-brainer. “It felt right for everyone right away. That gave me the confidence to go for it.”

From contracting to recruitment

Elia started at HeadFirst Group on the contracting team. There, she gained insight into the behind-the-scenes processes and the importance of effective collaboration among all parties involved. “I found contracting very interesting because it gave me a thorough understanding of the entire process,” she says. “After a while, I realized that I especially drew energy from interacting with candidates and suppliers. That’s why I made the switch to recruitment .”

It’s a decision she’s still happy with. “My experience in contracting comes in handy every day. Because I understand the process from start to finish, I can better support candidates and suppliers. That’s really appreciated.” Her educational background also aligns surprisingly well with her work today. “I once studied public administration law. Because of that, I often have a good grasp of the vision and working methods of government organizations. Ultimately, all those experiences come together nicely.”

Recruitment is all about people

What does Elia like best about her job? The personal connection. “To me, it’s important that people feel seen. There’s a story behind every resume.” She explains that small moments make a big difference. “Recently, a candidate couldn’t continue in the process due to personal circumstances. Of course, you could just send an email, but I decided to give them a quick call. That person was genuinely surprised that I took the time to do that.”

According to Elia, recruitment doesn’t have to be impersonal. “Of course, you can’t offer everyone a job, but you can make sure someone feels heard. I think that personal touch is very important.” Even when someone is rejected, she always tries to communicate respectfully and personally. “People often get turned down many times before they finally get a yes somewhere. If you can still leave them with a positive experience, that really makes a difference.” That approach regularly yields wonderful responses. “Sometimes candidates or vendors literally say, ‘I’ve never experienced this before.’ For example, when we send a card or flowers to mark an important milestone or personal event. It’s precisely that small, personal touch that is often greatly appreciated.”

“I actually noticed it right away during my job interview. And once I started, it turned out to be exactly as I’d thought. From my coworkers to management and even the reception desk: everyone is friendly and approachable.”

A team where you'll quickly feel at home

When the conversation turns to her colleagues, Elia immediately starts laughing. “We really have a great team. Sometimes it feels like friends working together.” According to her, it’s not just about the camaraderie, but especially about the way colleagues interact with one another. “Everyone works hard and is dedicated, but there’s also plenty of room for humor, support, and celebrating successes together.”

She notices this outside of work as well. “We go out for drinks together, attend colleagues’ housewarmings, or meet up at a festival. At the same time, we’re not afraid to speak up if something isn’t going well. It’s not just about having fun—there’s also room for honest feedback. That combination is exactly what makes it so enjoyable to work here.” She actually sensed that positive atmosphere even before her first day on the job. “I actually noticed it right away during my job interview. And once I started, it turned out to be exactly that. From colleagues to management and even the ladies at the front desk: everyone is friendly and approachable.” According to Elia, that atmosphere also helps people grow. “You feel that they’re really investing in you. When I wanted to switch internally to recruitment, I was given the space to discover who I wanted to be as a recruiter. I found that trust very valuable.”

Job satisfaction and work-life balance

In addition to the work atmosphere, Elia also appreciates the flexibility within the team. “They really take into account what someone needs. Whether you have kids, compete in elite sports, are a student, or are just having a rough day, they’re understanding.” She believes it’s precisely those little things that make all the difference. “When someone checks in later to see how you’re doing, you feel that people here are truly invested.” She also finds the support from managers very pleasant. “When I switched to recruitment, they really took the time to guide me properly. You can tell that people want you to grow.”

Why apply to HeadFirst Group?

For Elia, the answer is actually very simple. “My best friend came with me to the office the other day. When we left, she said, ‘I totally get why you enjoy it here so much.’” And according to her, that’s exactly what working at HeadFirst Group is like. “It’s not artificial or forced here, and certainly not everything goes smoothly—we’re human. But the people are genuinely friendly, you get opportunities to develop yourself, and you quickly feel like part of the team. If you’re looking for a place where you can be yourself, where people truly look out for one another, and where you’re given the space to grow, then you’ve come to the right place.”
