We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer (AI Platform) to join the Data & AI division of HeadFirst Group x Impellam. In this role, you will design, build and operationalise machine learning models and AI-driven solutions that run on our global data and AI platform, supporting our Workforce-as-a-Service (WaaS) strategy.

Your impact

As a Machine Learning Engineer (AI Platform), you play a key role in shaping how AI is applied across our global platform. You work on our Headless Data Architecture (HDA) — a scalable 9-layer architecture built on Databricks and Unity Catalog — enabling advanced analytics and AI use cases across Europe, the UK, the US and APAC.

You take ownership of the full machine learning lifecycle within the platform: from data preparation and feature engineering to model deployment, monitoring and iteration in production. Working with both predictive models and generative AI, you develop solutions that directly impact core business capabilities such as talent matching, candidate scoring and operational intelligence.

A key part of your role is translating experimental AI use cases into production-ready platform capabilities. You evaluate models, validate hypotheses and ensure that only high-quality, reliable and scalable solutions are deployed to the AI platform.

You collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Platform Engineers and stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that data pipelines, models and AI outputs are aligned, governed and fully integrated into the broader data ecosystem.

At the same time, you contribute to building a responsible and scalable AI foundation — embedding governance, documentation and compliance standards into the AI platform.

What you will do

• Design, build and deploy machine learning models and AI solutions on the AI platform (Databricks)

• Develop and operationalise LLM-powered applications and intelligent agents

• Own the end-to-end ML lifecycle, from data preparation to monitoring in production

• Collaborate with Data Engineers to ensure high-quality, platform-ready data pipelines (Bronze → Silver → Gold)

• Validate AI use cases through structured experimentation and hypothesis testing

• Integrate AI outputs into downstream platforms such as BI and activation tools

• Contribute to AI governance, including documentation, bias assessment and compliance

• Participate in sprint cycles, code reviews and architectural discussions

• Continuously improve model performance, scalability and reliability within the platform

You will be part of a growing Data & AI division that is central to the transformation of HeadFirst Group x Impellam into a truly data-driven organisation.

Working with modern technologies such as Databricks, Mosaic AI and Unity Catalog, you help build and scale a shared AI platform that supports both operational excellence and product innovation.
