We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join our HR and Finance team, who will be responsible for the payroll administration of approximately 400 employees. You will be the go-to specialist in this field and will ensure that payroll processing is carried out correctly, on time, and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. In addition, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas for improvements to processes and systems.
What will you do?
As a Senior Payroll Administrator, you are responsible for the entire payroll process. You monitor the quality of the payroll and ensure that all changes are processed correctly. In doing so, you work closely with colleagues in Finance, HR, and external parties.
Your responsibilities will include, among other things:
Monthly payroll processing for approximately 400 employees;
Processing and verifying personnel and payroll changes;
Managing pension plans, insurance, and other employee benefits;
Answering questions from employees and managers about salary and employment terms;
Implementing changes to laws and regulations;
Providing support for audits, internal controls, and payroll tax issues;
Preparing reports for Finance and HR;
Identifying opportunities for improvement and optimizing payroll processes.
You work with AFAS on a daily basis and are also involved in the implementation of Workday.
Your Work Environment
You’ll be joining the Finance team at HeadFirst Group. Although you’ll work closely with HR, responsibility for payroll lies with Finance. This means you’ll have a great deal of freedom to do your job and play a key role in ensuring quality and continuity.

You are an experienced payroll administrator who works independently, is meticulous, and takes responsibility for quality and continuity.
In addition, you should have:
A degree or background in payroll, HR, finance, or administration;
Practical Diploma in Payroll Administration (PDL);
At least five years of experience in payroll administration or payroll;
Experience with AFAS;
A thorough understanding of Dutch laws and regulations;
Proficiency in Dutch and English;
Do you also have experience with Workday or payroll within an organization with multiple entities? If so, that’s a plus.
