HeadFirst Group is a leading international HR service provider that helps organizations professionally manage both permanent and flexible work arrangements. This includes matching independent professionals with clients, handling the entire hiring process on their behalf, and advising organizations on their staffing needs. Every day, thousands of professionals work for hundreds of clients across Europe through HeadFirst Group.

Do you enjoy solving puzzles, staying organized when things get busy, and want to get a taste of nearly every aspect of this organization in a single internship? Then this might just be the best internship you can find this year.

As a Support Desk intern, you’ll be the first point of contact for a wide range of people: from colleagues with operational questions to suppliers, independent professionals, and clients who reach out about their project, contract, or invoice. You’ll learn how to bring order to chaos, how to resolve a difficult question with a smile, and how to know when to escalate an issue to a specialist. But we won’t just have you sitting behind your screen—we’ll also give you the opportunity to get a glimpse of the teams further down the chain.

What are you going to do?

  • You will respond to and log questions and requests from suppliers, independent professionals, and clients, both by phone and in writing.

  • You will also assist internal colleagues with operational and administrative issues.

  • You are responsible for ensuring that reports are properly recorded, forwarded, and followed up on.

  • You schedule appointments, assign tasks, and monitor progress.

  • You identify bottlenecks and recurring questions, and actively contribute ideas for improvements.

  • You'll work with our internal systems and platforms and quickly learn how to use them.

A look at the entire chain: in addition to your work at the Support Desk, during your internship you’ll shadow professionals in recruitment, contract management, success management, and partner management. This way, you’ll see exactly what happens before and after your role, and after just a few months, you’ll understand more about the organization than many people do after years on the job.

Who do we recognize here?

You’re enrolled in an MBO or HBO program, such as Customer Service, Secretarial Studies or Office Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, Facilities Management, or Business. These are examples, not strict requirements: are you in a different program that you think would be a good fit for this internship? Be sure to tell us why, and we’d be happy to review it with you. Even more important than your field of study is who you are:

  • You're curious and want to know how an organization works as a whole, not just your own role within it.

  • You're service-oriented and get a real boost from truly helping someone.

  • You communicate effortlessly in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.

  • You keep everything under control, even when you're juggling multiple tasks at once.

  • You take the initiative instead of waiting for someone to ask you.

  • You must be available at least 4 days a week for at least 5 months.

This is what you get from us

Vacation pay and days off
You will receive 8.33% vacation pay and are entitled to 27 vacation days per year based on full-time employment. This gives you plenty of time to recharge your batteries.
Hybrid working
We support hybrid working and apply a 60/40 split, whereby full-time employees spend three days at the office and two days working from home.
Premium-freepension
We pay your entire pension premium. This means you accrue pension without having to contribute to it yourself. As a result, you are left with a higher net salary.
Performancebonus
Depending on your performance and that of HeadFirst Group, you may receive an annual bonus of one or two months' salary.
Monthly extras
You will receive a monthly allowance for internet, a vitality budget, a contribution towards lunch, and support in setting up your home office.

What we expect from you

What will you learn during this internship?

  • How to communicate professionally and with a focus on the customer—both over the phone and in writing—with colleagues, suppliers, independent professionals, and clients.

  • How to organize, prioritize, and follow up on questions and reports, and when to handle something yourself or refer it to a specialist.

  • How to work with systems and platforms that are actually used by a major HR service provider.

  • How the flexible labor market and the hiring of professionals work, as you get an inside look at recruitment, contract management, success management, and partner management.

  • How different departments in the supply chain coordinate with one another, and what role the Support Desk plays in that process.

Practical Information

  • Start date: to be determined.

  • Duration: preferably at least 5 months.

  • Availability: preferably at least 4 days a week.

  • Internship stipend: up to €500 per month based on a 5-day workweek, calculated on a pro-rata basis. If you’re interning 4 days a week, you’ll receive €400 per month.

What do we offer you?

  • An internship where you actually get to do something—not just a “fetch-coffee” internship.

  • A comprehensive view of the entire chain: recruitment, contract management, success management, and partner management.

  • A casual work environment with short lines of communication and coworkers who make time for you.

  • Good guidance, with room for your own ideas and initiative.
