Next Generation at Work at HeadFirst Group
An enchanting afternoon: Next Generation at Work at HeadFirst Group
An eventful day
The afternoon provided ample opportunity to bring work and home together in a unique way. Children got a behind-the-scenes look at their parents' work while experiencing a day full of fun. For a short while, the office was transformed into a lively meeting place for young and old.

Magical activities
The afternoon was full of fun things to do and experience. A few highlights:
- Elsa and Olaf visiting!
A fairytale experience, with children visibly enjoying the moment with these familiar characters. - Spiderman superhero show
The superhero show with Spiderman, which provided a cool finale and had children enthusiastically posing with their hero. - Jumping, face painting and games
There was plenty of action for the youngest: a bouncy castle, face painting corner and a variety of creative games ensured that no one was bored.
Thanks to everyone
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this afternoon. From the organizers and special guests to our colleagues and their families.
We are already looking forward to another edition and hope to welcome again many colleagues and their families! Do you also want to be part of an organization that combines work and fun? Discover how special working at HFG is and join our team!

Presentation of Top Sport Community Award
Presentation of Top Sport Community Award
Pieter van den Hoogenband was with us to present the award on behalf of our partner Topsport Community. This year was all about "support," and the team from Staffing Management Services received well-deserved recognition for their exceptional cooperation.
The atmosphere was good right away: a swinging brass band, cream puffs, and a team that was visibly surprised. Pieter put it nicely: "You never win alone. It's all about the people around you who support you and make you stronger." That is exactly what we stand for as HeadFirst Group.

Team performance
What makes this award so special is that it is truly a joint achievement. Besides the core Staffing MS team, colleagues from finance and contracting contributed significantly to the success. A great example of how we at HeadFirst Group work together across labels to achieve the best results.
Connecting, celebrating, looking forward
This award highlights what makes Team HeadFirst Group strong: collaboration, commitment and celebration of successes. By working together across teams and disciplines, we take a step forward every time.
Thank you to Topsport Community for this wonderful recognition and to all colleagues who made this possible. Together we achieve more!

HeadFirst Group and The Dutch Masters join forces
HeadFirst Group and The Dutch Masters join forces
HeadFirst Group is entering into a unique partnership with The Dutch Masters for the HeadFirst Group - Best of Champions. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to commit to such an iconic and prestigious equestrian event. It offers the possibility to push boundaries and create new opportunities together with The Dutch Masters.

Iconic horse change format
Thanks to Headfirst Group - Best of Champions, we return to the iconic format of the horse swap. Olympic champion Christian Kukuk, world champion Henrik von Eckermann, European champion Steve Guerda and Dutch champion Willem Greve will compete against each other, not only with their own horses, but will also jump the course with each other's horses. It promises to be a historic showdown. We last saw this horse exchange during the World Championships in Caen in 2014, where Jeroen Dubbeldam became world champion.
Marion van Happen | CEO, HeadFirst Group
"We are immensely proud of our partnership with The Dutch Masters. Sport has the unique power to bring people together. At HeadFirst Group, we believe in the power of collaboration and connection. We Dare to Lead by pushing the boundaries and creating new opportunities together with The Dutch Masters. With the return of this format, together we are doing something unique for the sport and its fans."
Jeroen Dubbeldam | Sports Director, The Dutch Masters
"I am delighted that we have found such a suitable partner. I have been with HeadFirst Group myself, and it is a company that is very professional and tightly run. As soon as you walk in there, you immediately understand why they want to connect with the Best of Champions. They really strive for the best of the best. You see that, you feel that, and you notice that everywhere. The best riders in our sport are a perfect fit for that. I hope that if this category catches on as well as we expect, we can continue to expand it in the future."
The Dutch Masters
The Best of Champions will take place on Thursday evening, March 13, during The Dutch Masters. The Dutch Masters is an iconic equestrian event that began in 1966 and has played an important role in international equestrian sports ever since. Next year, The Dutch Masters will take place from March 13-16 at the Brabanthallen in 's-Hertogenbosch. This prestigious event is part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping. Annually attracting more than 65,000 visitors, The Dutch Masters offers an impressive mix of top-level show jumping and dressage.

Celebrating Diversity Day at HeadFirst Group
Celebrating Diversity Day at HeadFirst Group: A step toward a more inclusive workplace
On Oct. 1, we at HeadFirst Group celebrated Diversity Day, a day created in the Netherlands to promote and celebrate diversity in the workplace and in society. During this day, organizations across the country highlight the importance of inclusion and the unique qualities each individual brings.
At HeadFirst Group, we invited author and speaker Dilara Bilgiç to give us deeper insight into prejudice and its impact within society. During her inspiring session, Dilara brought us closer to an inclusive work culture by making us aware of unconscious biases and how they affect us on a daily basis. Her message aligned perfectly with HeadFirst Group's values: creating a safe working environment where everyone feels valued.
Diversity Day at HeadFirst Group is more than just a day; it reflects our commitment to a workplace where diversity is celebrated and inclusion is central. We believe that by talking openly and honestly about such issues, together we can make a positive and impactful contribution to society. We are constantly working to strengthen our inclusive workplace culture and look forward to welcoming talents who are also committed to a respectful and diverse workplace.

Working together for health and well-being
Working together for health and well-being
At HeadFirst Group it's not only about hard work, but also about the well-being of our colleagues. The end of September marked Vitality Week 2024, a week full of inspiring activities that boosted health and well-being within our organization. From daily active exercise to healthy eating - it was a week in which we worked together to create a fit and vital work environment.
The highlights of Vitality Week
Our Vitality Week had many highlights, but one activity really stood out: the StepUp Challenge. This challenge got us moving, with a competition to take as many steps as possible. Else Krijgsman emerged as the winner with an impressive 90,626 steps! Yasir Toker and Frederik Walraven finished in second and third place with 90,451 and 87,550 steps, respectively. A great achievement that shows how enthusiastic our colleagues were.
But Vitality Week had even more in store:
- Guided Lunch Walks: Every day our colleagues enjoyed guided walks during lunch. Get away from the office and into the fresh outdoors for a relaxing moment to refuel.
- Sports sessions by Kika Vermeulen: Led by Kika Vermeulen, we reflected on the importance of exercise. Kika's sessions not only provided a physical challenge, but also raised awareness about how important it is to stay fit, even in the office.
- Healthy food from caterer LEO: Healthy eating was a major theme this week. Our caterer LEO served responsible dishes that fit well with a week of vitality. Even the fryer stayed out on Friday!
A powerful boost for collaboration and energy
Vitality Week 2024 showed how nice it is to work together on health and energy. The commitment of our colleagues, the enthusiasm at the activities and the focus on exercise and healthy eating are part of our aim to make HeadFirst Group not only a great place to work, but also a place where well-being is central.
Are you looking for a job with an organization that takes wellness seriously? Where there is attention not only for professional growth, but also for a healthy lifestyle? Then check out our vacancies and come discover how you can become part of HeadFirst Group!
HeadFirst Group in action at Premier Padel
Colleagues in action at Premier Padel
A nice mix of sports and valuable insights: that is what our colleagues experienced during the Premier Padel event in Rotterdam Ahoy! With representation from Yellow Friday and Sterksen, they dived onto the padel court together for the dynamic Clinic & Compete. HR specialists from several large organizations worked up a sweat playing padel, but it was Lennert and Stef who stole the show by winning this event!
After the games, they enjoyed dinner at the padel court, a great opportunity to catch up together and exchange experiences. Besides the sporting challenge, during the event they also discussed the most important HR challenges for the coming year. By sharing insights and learnings, you come up with new ideas and strategies together.
The day ended with top-level padel, where the best padel players in the world showed their skills. The atmosphere was excellent, and the enthusiasm of all present made this day unforgettable.
Thank you to Topsport Community, and to everyone who attended for the energy, sportsmanship and inspiring conversations!
HeadFirst Group joins Topsport Community
HeadFirst Group joins Topsport Community
HeadFirst Group is all about connecting people and doing a little better every day. We are building a winning work environment where collaboration and performance are key. To reinforce this, we have joined the Topsport Community, founded by Pieter van den Hoogenband, Olympic swimming champion and 'chef de mission' of TeamNL in Paris 2024.
Our CEO, Marion van Happen, is excited about the partnership: "Sport has a unique power to connect people, which fits perfectly with our core value 'Connecting People'. Top athletes strive every day to be a fraction faster or better, and that is exactly the mentality we have at HeadFirst Group as well. Together with the Topsport Community, we want to make that culture of winning and working together even stronger."
Pieter van den Hoogenband, founder of the Topsport Community, is also enthusiastic; "HeadFirst Group is a fantastic company that understands what we want to achieve with the Topsport Community: connecting the worlds of top sport, science and business and sharing knowledge. So that we move forward together. HeadFirst Group breathes top sport: they are curious and want to perform. We therefore look forward to the cooperation."
For Bart van der Geest, Head of Marketing Communication & CX, this is a perfect match: "The collaboration with Topsport Community fits into the bigger picture of our 'Team HeadFirst Group' program. We are building a winning work environment, matching our status of 'great place to work'. The winning mentality from sports fits perfectly. Playing sports together, experiencing sports together, cheering together. We believe this contributes to our desired culture, our employer brand and our appeal as a service provider."
In short, this collaboration is more than just a partnership. It is a joint ambition to continue to grow, innovate and strive for the best together! At HeadFirst Group, we believe we get further together - in the workplace and beyond.
Recruitment & Selection vs Interim Recruitment: what's the difference?
Recruitment & Selection vs Interim Recruitment: what's the difference?
Recruitment & Selection and Interim Recruitment are both important forms of recruitment services within Sterksen. As a potential colleague, it can take some time to find out how the work is divided at a new organization. This blog examines the differences and similarities between the two recruitment solutions at Sterksen.
What is Recruitment & Selection?
The strength of Recruitment & Selection at Sterksen lies in the depth and quality with which the partnership with both client and candidate is built. The goal is always to achieve the best result for all parties involved. With Recruitment & Selection, we focus on long-term solutions, where recruitment is preferably carried out exclusively for different clients. By exclusive recruitment we mean that we take on the entire recruitment process of a vacancy. This means that we carefully consider all candidates, regardless of their origin (such as a work at page, referrals or actively hired candidates). We assess these candidates and make a selection of the professionals who best fit the vacancy and the client's needs.
This creates commitment on the client side and creates partnership. In addition, you also build a relationship with the candidate by guiding them through the entire process as well as possible. This involves extensive personal intake interviews, interim update calls, close supervision throughout the process and guidance through the deal-closing process.
The focus in Recruitment & Selection is on (business) IT roles, which is dynamic due to the rapidly changing industry. For the more experienced recruiters we also have executive search assignments, where we fulfill non-IT management positions in addition to IT. Think of positions such as Commercial Director or CEO.
What is Interim Recruitment?
Interim Recruitment has a dynamic character. This is therefore faster and more flexible within Sterksen than Recruitment & Selection. Here too a relationship is built with the client, but the process is more volatile given the speed required in the process. You often have only a few hours to days to introduce the suitable candidate to your client. The goal: to bring supply and demand together as quickly as possible. To achieve this, there is a short intake with the client. This is concise, but with a personal touch. We want to understand what the client is looking for in order to make the right match.
Because the recruitment process for interim assignments has a shorter cycle, the interviews with candidates are often somewhat shorter and less in-depth than in Recruitment & Selection. However, there is often more interaction with potential candidates, as the interim employees themselves actively show interest.
After your candidate is placed, it is crucial to maintain intensive contact with both the hiring manager and the candidate. This not only helps to further strengthen the partnership, but also to keep both parties committed to you for as long as possible and make the relationship lasting.
The similarities in our recruitment solutions
Recruitment & Selection and Interim Recruitment at Sterksen also have similarities. They are both roles with a commercial character. Both solutions are about bringing supply and demand together for both client and candidate. The two recruitment solutions also work closely together internally to jointly provide the best solution for the client.
There may be times when the pressure on a client's open position is very high, yet there is a need for a permanent candidate. In such a case, the two services can work together. By first placing an interim professional, while at the same time we start the search for a permanent employee.
Recruitment & Selection focuses on in-depth, long-term partnerships with extensive intakes and personal coaching. Interim Recruitment, on the other hand, is faster and more flexible, with a shorter intake and faster follow-up to achieve quick results.
With interim, the process is not complete after the placement; you remain in close contact with the candidate throughout the assignment. In addition, you are responsible for contractual agreements and dealings with both the client and the candidate.
In short, at Sterksen both Recruitment & Selection and interim recruitment offer effective solutions, each with its own approach. The diversity of recruitment solutions within the organization ensures that you have plenty of internal opportunities to grow and develop yourself further. Would you also like to benefit from this and make yourself a real matchmaker? Then take a look at our vacancies and apply immediately!
RPO: the next step in your recruitment career
RPO: the next step in your recruitment career
RPO recruiter Robert van den Ouwelant tells you all about it here
As a recruiter, sometimes you can't see your own career through the vacancies. The recruitment services fly around your ears: recruitment & selection, secondment, Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) or interim. In this blog we will help you on your way by taking a closer look at RPO services. This is the next step for every recruiter with some experience. How and why? Find out here!
What is RPO?
RPO stands for Recruitment Process Outsourcing. An organization outsources the recruitment and selection process to an external recruitment organization. This can be for various reasons, such as lack of expertise, cost or time savings. For an RPO recruiter this means that you are employed by a recruitment organization and placed with one of their clients in the role of Corporate Recruiter. Here the client is relieved in the recruitment process from A to Z: filling vacancies, referral, employer branding and innovation in data and systems (ATS) are the responsibility of the RPO recruiter.
Why is this the next step for you as a recruiter?
Because, as an RPO recruiter, you are employed by a recruitment organization and placed with a client, you wear two different hats. This means that you gain a large network, gain a lot of experience and make strides in stakeholder and project management, among other things. You are surrounded by other RPO colleagues who in turn also bring experience, which you learn from. In addition to finding the right candidates, you will develop with strategic recruitment projects. As an RPO recruiter, you are the recruitment expert for a client, making this the next step for you as a recruiter.
RPO at Sterksen
Sterksen has decades of experience in RPO projects. We are characterized by a team of experienced and committed professionals. We are of relatively small size with large international clients on RPO. Almost every large IT organization, is a client of Sterksen. In an RPO project we always try to be two steps ahead, for example with new recruitment marketing initiatives or data reporting via BI. We are sparring partners; we work with and not for the client. In addition, we learn and laugh a lot with colleagues. Monthly we organize RPO meetings and regularly we do a fun activity: from bingo to ChatGPT knowledge sessions.
What does this mean to you?
Sterksen is originally an organization from Brabant and it shows. Placements are regularly celebrated with sausage rolls at the office: a nice change from often more corporate environments at the client. This brings an interesting dynamic. In addition, Sterksen is not an average recruitment organization when it comes to 'individual scoring'. Also as an RPO recruiter you work as a team to get the best out of recruitment for our clients. Our culture ensures that you will quickly feel at home at Sterksen and work with confidence for the client.
Are you curious about RPO, Sterksen and/or want to know more about your next step as a recruiter? Feel free to ask me, Robert, your question at Robert.VandenOuwelant@sterksen.com or +31 6 52758134 Always nice to spar!
